South Africa

South Africa offers travelers an impressive range of attractions, suiting a wide variety of interests. Enjoy beautiful landscapes ranging from the parched Kalahari Desert, the iconic Table Mountain, Cape Point, Kruger National Park, lush wine lands and stunning beaches. South Africa is one of the continent’s finest Big Five Destinations (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo). World class wildlife destinations such as Kruger National Park and Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve along with private reserves provide well-established amenities including access to luxurious venues and all-inclusive guided safaris.

Botswana

 

Botswana is best known for its vast wilderness, a diverse landscape of desert, grasslands and waterways. You’ll find some of Africa’s most pristine and remote surroundings. What you won’t find are fences or built up tourist facilities. Approximately 40% of the country falls within a wildlife protected area. These areas are home to the world’s largest concentration of elephant, endangered black rhinoceros, African wild dog, a unique species of antelope, and a wide variety of birds for avian enthusiasts. There are plenty of opportunities for keen photographers to capture the wide variety of wildlife while enjoying beautiful natural scenery.

Namibia

Namibia offers travelers some of the best wildlife viewing on the continent. The many national parks and game reserves play host to a vast variety of wildlife. There is an astonishing number of bird, large mammal and reptile species along with landscapes that are breathtakingly unique. Namibia’s scenery is varied, ranging from the Namib (the world’s largest desert) that has created sandy plains, dune seas and savanna, to dramatic coastlines, rugged mountains, salt pans and river canyons. Wildlife viewing opportunities include elephants, giraffe, lion, brown hyaena, the largest free ranging population of black rhino and plains game such as springbok, gemsbok, wildebeest, Burchell’s zebra, Hartmann’s mountain zebra to name a few. In additional to excellent wildlife viewing, Namibia has a good network of well-maintained roads, well-established tourist infrastructure and lodging options.

Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is a classic safari destination will plenty of opportunities to view big game and an incredible diversity of animal and plant life. You’ll find a wide range of habitats in Zimbabwe perfect for wildlife viewing, including Matobo Hills National Park with forested valleys, the floodplains of Mana Pools National Park, the water wilderness of Lake Kariba and Matusadona National Park. The woodlands and savannas of Hwange National Park which is Zimbabwe’s largest national Park offers some of the best game viewing in Africa. Two major African rivers form the borders of Zimbabwe, the Zambezi on the northern boundary featuring the stunning Victoria Falls, and the Limpopo on the southern boundary. Besides viewing spectacular waterfalls, the flood plains provide superb wildlife viewing opportunities. Zimbabwe provides the chance for a quieter safari experience because of fewer crowds and excellent walking safari options. Canoeing safaris along the Zambezi River give you a chance to come close to elephants on the shore.

Tanzania

Tanzania is a fantastic African country to visit. Over 25% of the land has been designated as either national park, game reserve or wildlife management areas with the goal of benefiting wildlife and conservation. Safari travelers get the chance to take advantage of this large, diverse wilderness. You’ll see enormous herds of buffalo and elephant, the famed Great Migration with wildebeests and zebra, rare black rhinos, lion, cheetah, leopards and hyena to name a few. Besides spectacular wildlife experiences, Tanzania visitors can climb Africa’s highest mountain Mt Kilimanjaro and explore the beautiful Indian Ocean islands of Zanzibar and Pemba in the Zanzibar Archipelago.
